New city church distinctives

Reformed and Evangelical
We are EVANGELICAL because we hold to the historic Christian faith centered on the gospel: the Bible is the authoritative Word of God, salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone, and the good news of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection is to be proclaimed to all people.
We are REFORMED because we stand in the theological tradition of the Protestant Reformation. We joyfully affirm the sovereignty of God in all things, the Doctrines of Grace, and the rich confessional heritage that has shaped faithful churches for centuries.
In short, we are a church that loves the gospel and is shaped by the Reformation.

Confessional and Liturgical
Our worship is both confessional and liturgical.
We are CONFESSIONAL because we joyfully hold to the Second London Baptist Confession of Faith (1689) as a faithful summary of the teaching of Scripture. This confession shapes what we believe, how we preach, and how we order our life together as a church. We do not invent our own theology or practices; we stand with the historic Reformed Baptist tradition.
We are LITURGICAL because our gatherings follow a deliberate, biblical order of worship rather than a free-form or entertainment-driven style. Guided by the regulative principle of worship (what God commands in His Word), our services include the reading and preaching of Scripture, corporate prayer, the singing of psalms and hymns, confession of sin, assurance of pardon, and the observance of the Lord’s Supper—all done with reverence, clarity, and gospel focus.
In short, our worship is rooted in the Word, shaped by our confession, and ordered for the glory of God and the good of His people.

Credo-Baptist
We are a CREDO-BAPTIST church. That means we practice believer’s baptism—baptizing those who give a credible profession of faith in Jesus Christ.
In keeping with the 1689 Second London Baptist Confession of Faith, we believe baptism is an ordinance of the Lord Jesus, given to His church as a sign of union with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. It is to be administered by immersion to those who have been born again and publicly confess Jesus as Lord.
We joyfully baptize new believers as they enter the visible church, but we do not baptize infants although many in our church come from a paedo-baptist background and are welcome to be members in our church. Our practice flows from the conviction that the New Covenant is made with those who know the Lord, and that baptism belongs to those who have already received the grace it signifies.

Optimistic Eschatology (Postmillenialism)
We hold to an optimistic view of the future rooted in the promises of God. We believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ will continue to advance triumphantly throughout the world before His return. Through the faithful preaching of the Word, the work of the Spirit, and the obedience of God’s people, the nations will increasingly come under the lordship of Christ.
This hope is not rooted in human effort or political schemes, but in the finished work of Christ and the certain success of His Great Commission. We labor with confidence that the knowledge of the Lord will one day cover the earth as the waters cover the sea (Isaiah 11:9; Habakkuk 2:14), and that the church’s mission will bear lasting fruit in history for the glory of the Triune God.

Family Integrated Worship Services
Our Lord’s Day gatherings are family-integrated. We believe the gathered church is for the whole family, so children of all ages remain with their parents throughout the service.
Rather than sending children to separate programs during corporate worship, we welcome them into the full life of the church—hearing the Word preached, singing the praises of God, praying together, and observing the ordinances. This practice flows from our conviction that parents bear the primary responsibility for the discipleship of their children and that the ordinary means of grace are profitable for the entire household.
We strive to make our services accessible and welcoming to families, trusting that God uses the public ministry of the Word to shape both parents and children over time. In this way, our worship reflects the biblical pattern of the church as a household of faith gathered together under the lordship of Christ.

Expository Preaching
We are committed to expository preaching. Week by week, our pastor carefully explain the meaning of Scripture in its context, typically working through books of the Bible so that God’s Word—not human topics—sets the agenda.
This practice flows from our conviction that the faithful preaching of Scripture is the primary means God uses to save sinners and build His church.

Civic Engagement
As a Christian church, we believe Christians are called to be salt and light in every sphere of life—including the public square. We are committed to faithful civic engagement in the politics of our state and nation, seeking the good of our neighbors and the advance of biblical justice.
Central to this calling is our resolve to work for the end of abortion in our lifetime. We hold that every human life, from conception, bears the image of God and is worthy of protection. Therefore, we advocate, pray, educate, and act to defend the unborn and support a culture of life.
While the church’s primary mission is the proclamation of the gospel, we will not remain silent on matters of profound moral clarity. We encourage our members to vote, speak, and serve as responsible citizens under the lordship of Christ.

Culture Building
We believe the gospel calls us not only to make disciples who live out the cultural mandate (Genesis 1:28). As stewards under the Lordship of Christ, we seek to build businesses, institutions, and a robust culture that reflects the wisdom and beauty of God’s design.
Included in this vision is classical Christian education for our children. We are committed to raising the next generation in the nurture and admonition of the Lord through rigorous, Christ-centered learning that forms both mind and character. In this way, we labor to fulfill the Great Commission while cultivating lasting Christian influence in our homes, workplaces, and communities for the glory of God.

Congregational Singing-Psalms, Hymns, Spiritual Songs
We believe congregational singing is a vital part of biblical worship. Following the command of Scripture, we sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs together as the gathered people of God (Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16).
Our aim is not performance but the whole-hearted praise of the Triune God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Through robust, joyful, and reverent singing, we teach and admonish one another, confess the truth, and offer the sacrifice of praise that glorifies Christ. We prioritize the voices of the congregation over instruments or stage presentation, trusting that God is pleased when His people lift their voices as one in worship.
