Hello New City Church,

We wanted to give you an update regarding the Coronavirus and what we are doing in light of this situation. To start, we are planning on LIVE-STREAMING our this Sunday March 15th. Come back here to this page 10:30am Sunday March5th for our worship service which will be streaming on Facebook and YouTube.

The latest information from the CDC and Colorado Public Health Department does not require cancellation of events or gathering in public spaces. This could change quickly and we will notify you of any changes we have for Sunday worship services moving forward.

There are some precautions, however, that we want to point out for those considering being at our Sunday services:

  • Older adults and people who have severe underlying chronic medical conditions like heart or lung disease or diabetes are encouraged to avoid crowds as much as possible.
  • Everyone is encouraged to promote and follow the following preventive actions:
  • Stay home when you are sick, except to get medical care.
  • Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue, then throw tissue in the trash and wash your hands or use sanitizer.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Clean frequently touched surfaces and objects daily, including cell phones.
  • Keep your distance from others (social distancing). This would include shaking hands, hugs or any other activities that put you into close proximity of others.

These are some guidelines that will help us use wisdom as we navigate this our current environment. Proverbs says, “the prudent gives thoughts to his steps” so we will be wise in our interactions and thereby love our neighbors. But, we will also remember that God is on his throne, in control.

“God is our refuge and strength a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea … Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.” Psalm 46:1-2,10-11

So, we encourage you to pray with hope, knowing that God has already conquered the sting of death, which is sin. Jesus died and rose, conquering the grave so that we might have no fear of sickness, plague or pandemic. He is in charge. We can hope and trust in Him and what He is doing. May He receive glory from us as we preach hope to a dying world.

"Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God." - Romans 5:1-2
